Huge Copper Touch Panel Module Finds Way to Infotainment Displays

Toppan Printing Co., Ltd. has developed a 55-inch capacitive copper touch panel module and is set for mass production this month of the touch panel module as a general-purpose model. Toppan Printing will deploy the touch panel module targeting large monitors in a wide range of applications, including digital signage and electronic blackboards. Offering the module as a general-purpose model with fixed specifications, the company is able to meet small-lot orders and short delivery times. Toppan Printing has developed a capacitive copper touch panel module by incorporating a film sensor (copper touch sensor), on which copper wiring pattern is formed, an IC controller, and other parts, in a package. Since Nov. 2013, the company has deployed small-to medium-size (10-inch to 27-inch) products that are suitable for mobile products, including personal computers and tablet terminals.
