The study below analyzes the military helicopter market in two periods, five years each. The data for the 2004-2008 period show the sales already realized. The data for sales in the next five years (2009-2013) are gathered based on the existing order book as of 1 November 2008. The total in 2009-2013 also includes the sales under tenders now in progress or declared for the next few years if the winner, in compliance with the schedule, starts supplying the helicopters in 2009-2013. Since the winners of the tenders are not yet determined, the study presents such suppliers in the table as "unknown". The rating tables arrange the countries by the quantity of hardware they have sold or ordered (in this case the cost is considered as a secondary factor).
