While employed at Bradford University as the Special Collection Librarian, Alison Cullingford decided to take a practical approach to the University's under-utilised special collection in 2000. As a result, in 2014 Bradford University was the first English university to attain an Archive Accreditation standard. Cullingfords current professional and research interests include strategic collection development and utilising social media to connect with wider library audiences. Cullingford's professional and academic background provide a practical foundation to The Special Collections Handbook, 2nd Edition.
