Nirgends deutlicher als in der bäuerlichen Architektur spiegelt sich der gesellschaftliche Wandel der letzten 50 Jahre. Durch EU-Normen genauso wie durch den Wandel in der Produktion von Nahrungsmitteln haben die Stadel und Ställe von einst ausgedient, trotzdem dominieren sie -noch - die alpine Landschaft.Und so ist es ein sehr aktuelles Thema, um die es in einer vom Gelben Haus in Flims, der Fundaziun La Tuor in Samedan (beide Graubünden), dem Vorarlberger Architektur Institut und Kunst Meran gemachten Schau geht, die „Der nicht mehr gebrauchte Stall" heißt und noch bis 8. Januar, ergänzt durch ein auf die aktuelle Südtiroler Situation zugeschnittenes Modul, in Meran zu sehen ist.%The social changes that have taken place over the last 50 years are revealed nowhere more clearly than in farm architecture. As the result of EU standards as well as changes in the way our food is produced the barns and stables of yesteryear have outlived their function and yet they - still - dominate the alpine landscape.Consequently, the theme of the show "Der nicht mehr gebrauchte Stall" ("The Abandoned Barn"), which has been put together by the Gelbes Haus in Flims, the Fun-dazium La Tuor in Samedan (both Canton Grisons), the Vorarlberg Architecture Institute and Kunst Meran, is a highly topical one. Until January 8 this show can be seen in Merano, augmented by a module that describes the current situation in South Tyrol. The exhibition makers Susanne Waiz and Hans-Peter Maier carried out a search in South Tyrol, Grisons and Vorarlberg to find out and to document what has happened to the good old barn building. This is celebrated in a picturesque way by nostalgic black and white or coloured prints mounted on wooden battens, a method that might be thought to rob their research work of something of its precision.
