Flow: architecture, object and relation

This paper - like those following it in this issue of arq - focuses on the shifting notion of 'flow' and the significance of that notion for the practice, critique and theorisation of architecture.rnThe spatial significance of the notion of flowwas articulated through the work of the Catalan sociologist Manuel Castells. Castells' notion of the 'space of flows' refers to a specific socio-cultural moment. It is the moment at which technologies allowed the instant movement of information, capital and images.
