摘要

This is a downtown complex building for residential and office use. Based on its location of being adjacent to the abundant greenery of Toyokawainari Shrine and Akasakagoyouchi (Akasaka Detached Palace), we aimed to create a "regional environmental hub" connecting green zones in central Tokyo while maintaining a crisp and dignified Japanese taste. A public open space on the west side of this site maintains an appropriate space from Toyokawainari Shrine and also forms a "hollow of colored leaves" of deciduous tall trees by making the best use of the elevation differences of the site. In the case of festivals, this space serves as a space in front of the shrine and routinely serves as a transit garden to the Motoakasaka area to give an organic linkage with surrounding areas and provide an enriched amenity environment to allow people to feel the change of seasons in concert with the big ginkgo tree in Toyokawainari Shrine. The line under the eaves consisting of an iron facade and steel structure eaves was designed to be a skyscraper that gives a deeply-shaded Japanese appearance. As a plan composition, employing an enclosed cross plan which is a prototypical Japanese-style house design that provides panoramic views on the west and north sides and offers Windless offices through the sunshine-shielding effect taking advantage of the eaves with protruding dimensions that are different according to the direction they face. Thus, this building was designed to provide a substantial amenity environment and this led to a form that was verified based on 3D PPD (Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied) evaluation. As a result this building achieved a PAL value of approximately 200 and remarkably improved the amenity of the perimeter zone. Through the addition of line-of-sight control effects, the residential area on the 18th and 19th floors acquires a function that achieves both openness and privacy despite being downtown.
