摘要

The kinetics and mechanism of the oxidation of inorganic and organic substrates by peroxydisulfate under both catalyzed and uncatalyzed conditions have received considerable attention [1, 2]. The first-order uncatalyzed peroxydisulfate oxidation is well studied in aqueous solution; Bartlett and Cotman [3] have suggested that radicals produced in peroxydisulfate decomposition in aqueous solution cannot induce the peroxydisulfate decomposition, and based their statement on the fact that autocatalysis is not observed in the thermal decomposition and that the reaction is first order in peroxydisulfate concentration.
