Design Migration Between Circuit Tools Made Easier

Communication and interaction between software tools is changing rapidly. Historically, design processes have utilized stovepipe approaches where little interaction takes place among various design tools. Ansoft recognized early that engineers have a need for design interoperability and thus contracted SmartLynx to develop AnsoftLinks for HP EEsof Series IV™. This translator, released in February of 1999, migrates entire high-frequency circuit designs from Series IV to Ansoft''s circuit design tool, Harmonica, one of the modules in the company''s Serenade Design Environment. Designs are automatically converted into Harmonica projects using IFF files and a specialized neutral format.
