Clays in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage at the 14th International Clay Conference

The importance of clays in the archaeological field is very great, because they are the raw materials for the production of the ceramic artefacts. These products have accompanied humanity's life without interruption at least since the Neolithic. In fact, pottery represents the most important archaeological material of the last 10,000 years approximately. Not less important are the clays in the field of Cultural Heritage represented by monuments, because also in this case the ceramic artefacts, like heavy clays and tiles, have had, and still have, a very wide and long distribution and history.
