While it has a long road ahead, Wal-Mart continues to move closer to the goals it set for itself five years ago: to be supplied by 100 percent renewable energy, to produce zero waste and to sell products that sustain people and the environment, said Matt Kistler, the company's senior vice president of sustainability, speaking at a session of the recent National Retail Federation annual conference entitled "Sustainability in Retail - Increasing Profitability and Impacting the World."
