摘要

An new calibrating technique "Quartz Cell Method" was developed to determine trace amounts of carbon in steels by a high-frequency combustion-infrared absorption method. Sucrose was used as a primary standard. The Quartz Cell Method was free from contamination by carbon, and the obtained calibration curve showed good linearity, which passed through the origin. On the other hand, the pretreatment technique for the steel analysis was examined in order to remove of the contamination in the crucibles, accelerators and samples. Accordingly, the calibration curve obtained by steel CRMs with the pretreatment technique using pre-heating agreed well with that obtained by the present method.
