ASA To Hire Director of Science Policy

In the July 2006 issue of Amstat News, then president Sallie Keller-McNulty referred to the Science Policy Task Force she established. She challenged the association in her president's column to ask, "Is the ASA ready to establish a (stronger) voice in science policy?" In response, the task force recommended, and the ASA board agreed to, hiring a director of science policy. "The ASA board of directors, under the leadership of our recent presidents, has made an important investment in the future of the American Statistical Association and in the health of our profession," said ASA Executive Director Ron Wasserstein.
