Dhaka University Statistics Department Celebrates 60 Years

The American Statistical Association sponsored a probability and statistics conference to celebrate the 60-year anniversary of the Dhaka University Statistics Department. The conference, held December 26-28, 2010, was organized by the Dhaka University Statistics Department Alumni Association. The department of statistics, biostatistics, and informatics (formerly the department of statistics) boasts a distinct association with R. A. Fisher, who visited the department in 1950 in response to an invitation by his friend and founder of the department, Qazi Motahar Husain.
