Knowledge.Management (KM) continues to be a hot topic for water utilities. Drivers such as the aging workforce, retiring experts, difficulties in recruiting and retaining staff, and needing to continually improve operational efficiency help keep KM on the front burner. In his book Lost Knowledge: Confronting the Threat of an Aging Workforce, David DeLong provides numerous examples of the impact of losing key knowledge critical to the livelihood of organizations.
