EU security RULES differ from U.S.

After the industry expended much effort urging U.S. authorities to ensure that new security- focused advance cargo manifest rules do not impede trade, a similar task looms in Europe where another set of home-grown regional requirements on cargo security are to be introduced. While both the U.S. and Europe focus on the need for advanced cargo information to be able to identify and inspect high-risk shipments, the European proposals differ from those of the United States, for both air cargo and maritime shipments.
