摘要

One of the most difficult problems facing petrophysics historically has been evaluating tight gas sandstones. A major contributing factor is the complex mineralogy associated with tight gas sandstone reservoirs, with the matrix component of the rock often consisting of various combinations of quartz, limestone, dolomite, feldspar (potassium and sodium), and in some cases, mica. Authigenic clays of all four basic types (illite, smectite, kaolinite, and chlorite) typically are present.
