A Failure to recognise the full potential of new satellite positioning technology could lead to the UK losing out on revenue and jobs. Rainer Grohe, executive director of the Galileo project, the European next-generation Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system, has warned that hundreds of thousands of potential jobs could be lost to China and India if European companies don't start developing new applications for the more accurate positioning system that Galileo will deliver.
