摘要

Control of process parameters involved in saponification of polyester fiber is essential if consistent, lot-to-lot fiber modification is to be obtained. The combined effects of process parameters such as: temperature, time, sodium hydroxide and phase transfer catalyst concentration are examined. From the resulting weight loss of fiber obtained under different laboratory conditions, a statistical model is developed that is useful for estimating expected weight loss under conditions present in a production environment.
