As any operator knows, a dryclean-ing plant needs lots of natural gas, electricity and steam to get its work done. And with utility prices rising constantly, drycleaners must cut costs to keep a grip on profits. Three-quarters of drycleaners see utility costs as a bottom-line concern, according to the most recent survey to appear in the Wire. And most are pursuing multiple strategies to keep energy costs down.
