10 YEARS AGO, Wire hangers imported from China may soon face special tariffs, as the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has gotten wind of complaints launched by three U.S.-based hanger manufacturers: CHC Industries, M&B Metal Products and United Wire Hanger. Frederick Waite, the lawyer representing the three companies, has reported that China has tripled its U.S. market share in hangers since 2000, having supplied 500 million of the more than 4 billion hangers sold last year.
