And while every show has its own personality and every judge has their own unique perspective on what they would like to see from an entrant, these are the entry-level details necessary for a competition piece. If you are entering a themed competition that requires an inspiration piece, use that to your advantage: choose a subject that has enough detail for you to work with. If the inspiration is lacking, it is difficult to design a detailed and interesting cake. The judges should not have to struggle to see the theme in your cake.
