A softer sea breeze

This year saw the 20th iteration of the annual Sea Breeze multinational maritime exercise. Held in July, the bilateral exercise between the Ukraine and the United States took place in the Black Sea. The main goal of Sea Breeze is to strengthen maritime security and stability in the Black Sea region by improving the co-operation and interoperability between participating nations - including NATO members and various regional partners. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional format of the exercise had to be abandoned and Sea Breeze 2020 was organised in a format conforming to these extraordinary circumstances.
