Two Indonesian Panthers for ASW

THE TENTARA Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Laut (TNI AL, Indonesian Navy) has equipped two of its AS565MBe helicopters for anti-submarine warfare duties with Skadron Udara 100. The remaining nine aircraft are being outfitted by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) for 'multi-mode' maritime missions, without ASW gear, to replace the Bo 105. Indonesia ordered 11 AS565MBe aircraft in 2014 and it was expected that all would be configured for a primary ASW role. Eventually, the nine 'multi-mode' examples may also receive ASW equipment.
