Airbus Helicopters accelerates Ukraine H125 deliveries

THE UKRAINE Ministry of Interior will take delivery of the first two Airbus Helicopters' H125s in December - six months ahead of schedule. The manufacturer announced the revised programme at the Paris Air Show on June 17, also stating that these initial helicopters - originally intended for law-enforcement missions - will instead be used for pilot training. The H125s will operate from new pilot school facilities being set up with the help of Airbus Helicopters at the University of Kremenchuk. The manufacturer will also deliver an H225 full flight simulator to the same location, where it will be operational by December next year. Establishment of a local training and maintenance centre is part of a contract signed with the Ukraine Ministry of Interior on May 29 last year, which includes a total of 55 helicopters. These include 21 second-hand, 'repurposed' H225s, of which four have been delivered to date, ten brand-new H145s (eight of which will have the five-blade main rotor) and 24 H125s.
