New look for Guardia di Finanza AW139

AW139 GF-413 is the penultimate example on order for the (GdF Financial Guard) and is the first to appear in a new colour scheme originally designed for the AW169. The livery will ultimately be adopted by the entire AW139 fleet. The first two GdF AW139s (GF-401 and GF-402) were delivered in December 2008 and January 2011 respectively and assigned to the Centro di Aviazione at Pratica di Mare. An order for an additional six examples was signed in December 2016 and the first two (GF-403 and GF-408) were allocated to the Sezione Aerea at Catania early last year, replacing AB412s. The remaining four were assigned to units at Bari and Cagliari respectively. A follow-on order of six AW139s was announced in December 2017, with deliveries scheduled for 2020. Deliveries of this final batch(GF-409 to GF-414) are well ahead of schedule - five have already been accepted, including Volpe 413 which was delivered to Pratica di Mare on June 19. The latest six rotorcraft will re-equip the units at Taranto, Pescara and Pratica di Mare.
