Your article "My Other Ride Is a Spaceship" (June/July 2019) doesn't mention what appears to be a small plane crash in the background of the first picture (right) in the story. Editor's reply: That small airplane looked like a glider to us. The GM Heritage Center confirmed that there were two glider pilots in the design department in those days, and "it's not out of the question that one of them could have flown to the Tech Center on that day." We checked with Traff Doherty, director at the Soaring Museum, who agreed with researcher Roger Mola that it was likely a home-built Cherokee Ⅱ.
