It was Monday in Thailand, half a day later than it was for American viewers. Roughly a million people in the southeast Asian nation watched as Armstrong climbed down the ladder onto the lunar surface, the government having arranged for television coverage that drew visitors from neighboring countries that didn't carry the broadcast live.
