County gives green light to wind turbine

A wind turbine will cut emissions while generating power and profits for the residents of Berwick-upon-Tweed after receiving the thumbs up from county councillors.rnThe Berwick Community Wind Turbine, which will be located between the A1 and the East Coast Main Line, will be 50m to hub height and 74m to bladetip.lt will generate sufficient energy to power around 540 homes and save more than 1000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.rnOwned by local people, this will be the first community wind turbine in the North East.
