It is known that negative static pressure exists everywhere in the mixing field except in the potential core immediately adjacent to the nozzle exit where pressure is positive (in the plane jet, roundjet, rectangular jet, and square jet). Hussain and Clark explained the existence of negative mean static pressure by the spanwise transverse mean momentum equation.
