With the fall of Tripoli only recently averted, a new battle is being waged in the Libyan capital but this time for control of the intelligence services. The top post and the two deputy positions are currently vacant. According to information obtained by Africa Intelligence, several candidates are vying for the top job in the Tripoli intelligence services but power struggles within the Government of National Accord (GNA) are hampering the process. Consequently, President Fayez Sarraj is the acting intelligence chief and is not ready to appoint a replacement.
