King Kong Organics drums up cannabis business across the continent

King Kong Organics' (KKOG) American founder and chairman, Edouard Joseph, is visiting a succession of African presidents in an effort to convince them to legalise the cultivation of cannabis. No stranger to the world of politics, having helped Democrat Carrie Meek when she sat in Congress, Joseph now has Dar es-Salaam in his sights. He has made contact with the office of President John Magufuli, who has shown some interest in what KKOG has to offer. The matter was passed on to the office of Attorney General Adelardus Kilangi to deal with its legal aspects. The California-based farmer hopes to benefit from an October 2018 amendment to narcotics legislation that allows medicinal cannabis to be cultivated under the supervision of Tanzania's Drug Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA). But DCEA director James Kaji had so far not issued any such authorization.
