Having seen the Hooks' Tours spread on the Shorts Skyvan (Aeroplane June 2019), a quick line came to mind. As co-pilot on our Cathay Pacific Airways Boeing 747-400, we were (slowly) taxiing out behind a Skyvan and my crusty but delightful Australian captain transmitted on the ground frequency, "What's that taxiing in front of us?" The aircraft responded, "We're a Shorts Skyvan, sir". No hesitation in the reply from my skipper: "Well, I guess it'll look real good when you unwrap it from the box…"
