Much attention has been directed toward polymeric and ionic-liquid (IL) electrolytes and their composites for improving the safety in energy devices including lithium-ion rechargeable batteries (LIBs), electric double layer capacitors, and dye-sensitized solar cells. For practical use, however, the most serious problem is that ionic conductivity is greatly spoiled.
