It seems that hardly a week goes by without there being a mention of yet another new refrigerant being either proposed, trialled or commercialised. This period in the history of refrigerants is experiencing the largest and most rapid changes ever seen and it can be difficult to keep up. So here is an attempt to answer at least some of your questions. What? When we refer to alternative refrigerants, what we are really talking about is replacing products with less desirable properties that reduce their future lifetime, with better ones that have a much longer term future.
