Millions of people worldwide need glasses or contact lenses to seernor read properly. We introduce a computational display technologyrnthat predistorts the presented content for an observer, so thatrnthe target image is perceived without the need for eyewear. Byrndesigning optics in concert with prefiltering algorithms, the proposedrndisplay architecture achieves significantly higher resolutionrnand contrast than prior approaches to vision-correcting image display.rnWe demonstrate that inexpensive light field displays driven byrnefficient implementations of 4D prefiltering algorithms can producernthe desired vision-corrected imagery, even for higher-order aberrationsrnthat are difficult to be corrected with glasses. The proposedrncomputational display architecture is evaluated in simulation andrnwith a low-cost prototype device.
