REACTION DIVIDED ON INSOLVENCIES

The fewest insolvencies recorded in England and Wales since the start of the financial crisis have received a mixed response from accountants, with a warning the rosy picture is hiding an ugly truth. Data released by the Insolvency Service for the third quarter of 2012 showed 3,971 companies filed for bankruptcy in the three months from July to September - a fall of 2.8% on the previous quarter and the lowest since Q2 of 2008.
