In July the US Treasury published the draft Model Intergovernmental Agreements for the implementation of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). In the first instance, the new agreements will be implemented with the G5 countries (UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) with the aim of making the implementation of FATCA in those jurisdictions easier.
