A TAXMAN OBSERVES

Stephen Banyard, director general, personal tax, and a member of HMRC's executive board, visited AC Mole & Sons in Taunton, Somerset, on 10 November. His visit lasted around six hours, starting with an overview of how the practice works, the software it uses and a walkthrough of its post-receiving process. The entire tax team then sat down with Banyard for a group discussion lasting several hours. 'We raised numerous service delivery issues,' says partner Amanda Gunter. 'We talked about P35 penalties, PAYE coding and a whole range of general and specific issues.'
