P06.17 Membrane-bound and extracellular 70-kDa heat shock protein (Hsp70) as a diagnostic marker in high-grade glioma patients

Introduction:The stress-inducible 70-kDa heat shock protein Hsp70 is known to be expressed on the membrane of highly aggressive tumor cells including high-grade gliomas, but not on corresponding normal cells. Furthermore, Hsp70 membrane-positive tumor cells actively release Hsp70 in exosome-like lipid vesicles. In the presented study we investigated membrane-bound and extracelluar Hsp70 in neuro-oncological patients as a novel diagnostic marker.
