The German Peasants' War marked an important stage in building the State of the Common Man in the Holy Roman Empire. This occurred after May 1525,when the demands of peasants were rejected by lords and common people were helplessly beaten, butchered and executed by princes'mercenary troops. The pamphleteers of the Peasants'War began to think how to build the State of the Common Man.During the period between May 1525 and 1527,pamphleteers wrote several documents on the issues of the State of the Common Man,which, though only in theory and failed to put into reality,in fact showed the most notable feature of the revolution. The ideas of the State of the Common Man challenged the very roots of feudal order. They also attempted to pursue new types of governance which would protect the common people and bring them the common good, justice and better life. This marked a significant step toward a much higher level of peasants'revolution.
