<正>China,with its impressive heritage of ancient carved stones,also has a long history of research aimed at understanding the stones and their characters.Epigraphy boomed during the Song Dynasty(960-1279),with specialists enthusiastically engaged in collecting and studying written records about carvings of previous dynasties.Because modern archaeology started late in China—the result of war
