On August 31, 2018, the ChinaSecurities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) released the Provisions on the Supervision and Administration of Depositary Receipts under the Stock Connect Scheme between Shanghai Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange (for trial implementation) (hereinafter referred to as the "Provisions") to solicit public opinion.Meanwhile, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) released the Notice on Issuing the Guidelines for the Market Making for Chinese Depositary Receipts under the Stock Connect Scheme between Shanghai Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange (hereinafter referred to as the "Notices").The two documents prepared Shanghai-London Stock Connect (SLSC) for a stage of substantive progress.This article will explore the contents, features,and impacts of SLSC as a significant move toward opening up the domestic A-shares market.
