The paper introduces the connotation, features of the GPS measurement techniques and its application in engineering mapping, analy-zes the coordinate positioning for pipelines with GPS measurement technique, indicates its application in the settlement monitoring of pipe-jacking and the treatment of temporary bench marks, and points out its adoption can promote the measurement efficiency and quality greatly and improve the social and economic benefits by improving the technique continuously.%主要讲述了GPS测量技术的内涵、特征以及在工程测绘中的应用状况，详细分析了GPS测量技术对管道进行坐标定位、对顶管进行沉降监测、临时水准点的处理等方面的应用，指出采用GPS测量技术，大大提升了测量效率和质量，不断改进GPS测量技术，可提高测量工程的社会经济效益。
