This article introduces the principles of noise control and puts forward the means for noise control in metallic piping. It also introduces an empirical formula of noise insulation thickness and expatiates on how to use this formula with examples and issues to be noticed. The paper analyses the impact of noise frequency, diameter of piping and installation and so forth on noise control.
