An Analysis of Michelle Obama’s Speech Based on Kenneth Burke’s New Rhetoric

摘要

This paper intended to analyze the speech made by Michelle Obama based on the theory of Kenneth Burke’s New Rhetoric. With Dramatistic Pentad and Identification, used in the paper, examples are extracted from the text and analyzed respectively. Through the study, the underneath motives and reason why the speech is so persuasive are revealed.
