Based on the theory of genre analysis, with the employment of Swales CARS Model and Bhatia's seven-step genre analysis method this article manages to probe into the macro-structure and micro linguistic features of 6 analytical business reports (here"analytical business reports"is a narrow term and just refer to the excellent outcomes of BEC higher writing part 1). Re?ferring to the communicative purpose of this kind of discourse, the author works out the moves of such discourse and analyzes its lexical features, hoping that this research will give helps to those who are not doing well in BEC Higher Writing Part 1.
