Dear Editor, Strigolactones (SLs) are novel phytohormones that shapeplant architecture by inhibiting shoot branching and regulatingroot growth,besides their established functions in stimulatingseed germination of root-parasitic weeds,such as Striga andPhelipanche species,and inducing hyphal branching in arbus-cular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi (Al-Babili and Bouwmeester,2015).
