In this paper,a two dimensional (2D) numerical simulation based on the volume of fluid(VOF)method is used for study of sloshing phenomena in marine vehicles.In order to develop a practical method to predict the sloshing pressure,especially,the impact load on tank wall,emphasis is given to the numerical treatment of the boundary conditions,which are sensitive to the simulation.Liquid sloshing inside a rectangular tank is simulated.The time histories of the free surface position and the dynamic pressure are obtained.The results are compared with the test ones.These comparisons show that the present method can be used to simulate the sloshing load.
