Barbara Kingsolver, in her fifth novel Prodigal Summer, which is a piece of the eeofeminist literature, portrays an ideal picture of the green world where nature and women live harmoniously and peacefully. In the novel, women take up the responsibility to save nature as well as themselves from the attack from the male world. It is argued that the idealism in this novel is quite distinct as it challenges the traditional view on women and men, as Kingsolver endows the three female protagonists with amazing power to fight against men and their poisonous chemicals. It is reasonable to believe, however, that this dream of the green world will come true one day.%美国当代著名女作家芭芭拉.金索维尔（Barbara Kingsolver）第五部小说《丰盛的夏天》（Prodigal Summer）从生态女性主义的角度出发,探讨了女性和自然的命运。金索维尔通过赋予女性和自然惊人的能力来完成两者的自我救赎和相互拯救,从而构建起一个和谐丰盈的绿色世界。通过分析这部作品可以看到,金索维尔虚构三个非凡女主人公,赋予她们力量、智慧和仁慈,让她们带领误入歧途的人类寻找与自然和谐共存的途径。虽然完全由女性来构建一个绿色社会显得过于理想化,但是金索维尔真正希望达到的效果是人们能从小说中得到自省。
