英国文学乡土意识研究

摘要

乡土意识是孕育、发轫于农业文明,并在工业文明之下持续发酵,不断成熟的一种文化形式和思维方式. 它是人们进行价值判断的标准,是文化思考的起点. 英国文学中乡土意识主要体现在三个方面:一是单纯对特定地域中风土人情、自然景物的描写,并以此抒发情感;二是将乡土意识与机器文明对立,并以乡土意识为价值判断标准对机器文明进行批判;三是乡土意识以潜在的形式呈现出对机器文明的反抗,乡土意识成为人们抗御机器文明对传统文明侵蚀的精神堤坝.%The local consciousness , as a kind of cultural form , as well as a thinking mode , which origi-nated from agricultural civilization , developed gradually and matured under industrial civilization , is always taken as the norm of value judgment and the starting point of cultural thinking .Such a consciousness in British literary works is mainly revealed through three approaches .Firstly, the pure description of natural landscapes and local customs of certain areas , likewise the emotions expressed in light of that;Secondly , the opposite re-lation between the local consciousness and mechanical civilization , along with the criticism against the latter by virtue of the former which is deemed as the norm of value judgment .Thirdly , the resistance of local conscious-ness against mechanical civilization demonstrated in potential ways by which the local consciousness became a spiritual dam constructed for the safety of traditional civilization against the erosion of mechanical civilization .
